Dancer Wang Yibo

Wang Yibo fell in love with dancing instantly when he was young, one of his styles is Hip
hop. However, he practiced many types of dances such as Popping, Locking, Krump and
many more. As an all-round artist, Wang Yibo is well known for his amazing dance skills. He
just loves to dance. The way he dances to his heart’s content always brings joy and
happiness to all viewers.

Da Zhang Wei, a musician and his fellow Day Day Up host once said: “I saw a lot of people
dance, but Wang Yibo is one of the people who can pose and look cool naturally while
dancing or on the stage. The so-called 360 degrees without any bad angles, he just looks
amazing from every side. He is just awesome.”
Yes, Da laoshi is just on-point; because when you watch Wang Yibo dance, you just can’t
help but to smile cause his happiness is contagious and infectious. His expressions, his face
while he mumbles to the lyric of the song are just a feast to the eyes.

Street Dance Announcement

It was held in year 2020, from July till October 2020 with total 12 episodes and aired by
Youku, the 4 captain in alphabetical order for this season were: Jackson Wang, Wallace
Chung, Wang Yibo and Zhang Yi Xing.

From this Street Dance season 3, Wang Yibo met Bouboo and Yang Kai (Keven) amongst
many dancers on his team, who became his two strongest dancers when it came to battles.

Wang Yibo team is called Yibo Wangzha team, and his team logo is a Black panther.

Captain Solo Show

Although Wang Yibo has gained a reputation as an entertainer who has amazing dance skills,

he was a new captain during this Season. Most of the dancers had not known him, he is a newbie in

the competition full of professional dancers. Street Dance of China is known as a program who

always planned for a new setting, new run down and new rules in each of every season. This Season

kicked off with the captains’ solo stage where all captains were given a stage for their solo opening

dance in front of all the dancers.

Wang Yibo planned for a full choreography on his opening stage. He practiced hard in between his

little free time, dedicated all his energy to practice hard as he attempted to showcase an explosive

stage. He actively directed the camera angles to make sure it captured the dance piece completely.

In between his Being A Hero, his racing track training, and the Street Dance preparation, he poured

all of his heart and soul to keep practicing until he has no more energy left. He must cope with all

his remaining energy to make his stage worth watching.

Wang Yibo’s foot was injured, and the doctor ordered him to have two weeks of rest, but he

refused to do so because he needed to stand up for his team. He must lead his team to fight

another battle to make sure that they will not lose any more team members. Wang Yibo

learnt many breaking moves and was able to balance his moves with the

professional dancers on this team.

Last Place Out of All Captains and Why?

During the Captain solo stage, Wang Yibo came up as last out of all four Captains by voting.

The reason said by JC, one of the dancers said his dance choreography was too fast, full, and

complicated, although the moves were top notch. As a result, there were mix reactions and

become the disadvantage since not everyone could comprehend the speed and style. The show

continued with the first team’s towel collection for each captain where each dancer was given

one towel, and they will have the freedom to give their towel to the Captain they liked the most.

Sadly, it turned out that Wang Yibo was the captain with least number of towels. This meant

that he would have the least team members, as the number of towels represented the number

of dancers of his team. He was disappointed with the result, but his heart was bigger.

He accepted that people can have different preferences for dance, and he would rather

focus on how to become a better captain this season and continue the show.

He showed that he is a man with big heart and positive attitude.

3v3 Dance Battle [ EXPLOSIVE & ICONIC]

The game continued, and Wang Yibo played along by the game’s rules. He recruited the dancers

he assumed could do free style battles. When there was a chance to get extra towels, his team

who was up against Jackson Wang’s team performed 2 rounds of battle. His team’s dance piece

was trending and become the hot search, it was jaw dropping. Wang Yibo in the blue checkerboard shirt

and white sweatpants solo cypher and team battle’s dance stole many hearts that day.

Some dancers began to see his dance skills and see his strength as the captain and he started

to gain more recognition from the dancers, many were astonished with his appearance, many

were screaming uncontrollably that he is too handsome numerous times.

The battles were done through 2 dance pieces, on the second dance, there was a moment where

the two other dancers grab Wang Yibo all over his body while he continues to dance and making his

sexiest expressions that elevates the dance choreography by a million times. One thing for sure, Wang

Yibo’s face while dancing is always on point and perfectly pleasing to the eyes, good looking from

every angle. He is making such flirty expressions without even trying to be sexy, it was beyond

words and this scene right here definitely lives rent free on audience and fans mind and

will remain in their deepest memory about Yibo.

Water Stage Battle

During the water stage, Captain Yibo wore a black headscarf and black clothes which made him

look so cool. Apparently, it was inspired from Zoro “Piece”, one of Wang Yibo’s favorite manga character.

The black scarf was tightened wrapping his head and exposing his full round head shape.

This, again, attracted people’s attention. Many were amazed with his cute perfect head shape, and

they were all wondering how his parents could inherit him the perfect head shape.

In Chinese culture, people believe that the perfect round head shape represents intelligence.

Yibo Wangzha dances and battles were praised by many, their water dance stage was one

of the heavily discussed stages.

Wang Yibo learnt many breaking moves and was able to balance his moves with the professional

dancers on this team. The whole team danced with running water and totally wet, their choreographer

was explosive with many tricks. One of the most iconic moments was where all the dancers took off

their shirt except Yibo, they continued their moves and towards the end when Yibo stood up while his

team members pulled his outer black shirt off, revealing his totally wet white shirt while Yibo did

his sexy chest pop moves and the audience went feral. It was mind blowing.

Jungle Panther Dance

Wang Yibo and his Yibo Wangzha team performed a wild jungle team dance piece that was full of

sharp moves and breaking tricks, it highlighted the black panther which is their team’s mascot,

another jaw dropping performance of the team during the SDC 3.

Xiao Bao

One of Street Dance competition culture is to perform a dance battle, and it is usually done either

solo or as a group. The battles are a way for the program to decide which dancers move on to the next

round and which one gets eliminated. There was one epic moment during the dance battle, where

Xiao Bao from Wallace Chung’s team did a battle as part of his free style, he went to Yibo to tease him

while battling, thinking to do that for fun to make the ambience lively. However, out of nowhere, Yibo

just stood up and grab Xiao Bao’s head firmly with his alpha-ness exploding all over. He cornered

Xiao Bao and chased him around with his wild flirty expressions while Xiao Bao is running away, looking

panicked and losing his rhythm while the audience was screaming uncontrollably. A combination

of shock and thrill of what is happening in front of their eyes.

The next day, Xiao bao did a live chat session and explained how he was shocked and never

expected that he will get cornered by Yibo. He explained that it was just part of his free styling

choreography and nothing more than that. He apologized to Yibo backstage after the battle and

Yibo replied with a smile and said that is how battle is. Xiao Bao said that Yibo really understood

what street dance culture is, he also elaborated that Yibo is very manly, bold and a courageous

cool guy. Totally not as cute as he looks.

Actress Li Yitong also became a fan of dancer Yibo after seeing his Captain cypher battler. In another

variety show she had mentioned how she saw Yibo dance and said, "Wang Yibo kicked all the way

On semi-final, Bouboo performed a dance piece inspired by “The Mask” from Jim Carey movie,

he brought up the 1920’s ambience into the stage while he as “the mask” came uninvited stealing

spotlight in the party. While he was being the center of attention, the police (special appearance by Xiao Ji)

came to arrest him for stealing, they both showcased a comedic catch and run scene with Bouboo

signatures hip hop moves and Xiao Ji funny breaking moves complementing the scenes, it was

flawlessly funny and entertaining. Before the ending, Bouboo ran to where the captains are sitting

and sit on Wang Yibo lap, yes, he did that, while the audience is screaming uncontrollably, Wang Yibo

participating in the ending of the dance piece by giving away the fake money stole by Bouboo,

such an epic performance that bring Bouboo to enter the final.

Bouboo Impression about Captain Yibo

I never knew Wang Yibo before I came to China, I like Wang Yibo because he is the type of person

who is willing to try and learn new things in dance, he like to dance and to perform. He always said

he is not a good dancer, but for me he is very good. He is a good dancer. I think, he is really good,

I travelled around the world and see so many dancers, I see a lot of potential in him, if he continues

to practice he can be the top dancer in China for sure.

Huang Bo

During the 3rd season of SDC, they invited a special guest: A veteran actor who is also a

singer and dancer – Huang Bo. He took the role as an additional judge and thus, he was given a

voting right and could decide which dancers were able to move forward to the next stage along

with the 4 Captains. During his first appearance, the program director asked all captains to guess

who he was while he danced with his silver mask on. Huang Bo performed and dance to each

of the Captain’s Song, including Wang Yibo’s “Wu Gan (No Sense)”.

Another cute interaction between Yibo and Huang Bo was when the 5 of them were given a

challenge from the program director to perform a cute dance that they need to dance over different

speeds, which was hilariously funny. Little did we know, Huang Bo and Wang Yibo were collaborating

in a new movie about the life of a struggling dancer called “One and Only”. At the time of writing,

the movie is currently filming.

Wang Yibo and Huang Bo’s interaction was also spotted on Vogue China - Chanel event, a gala

Yang Kai

Wang Yibo first met Yang Kai on Jackson Wang's street as he was one of his team before accepting

to be on Yibo's team later on in the episode. Yibo was already impressed with Yang Kai as a B-Boy and

think highly of his talent as a dancer.

On this episode of Street Dance of China, dancers are put into specific room individually "The black

room" where the Captains are given a chance to recruit them into their team and give them towel.

Captain Yibo went into Yang Kai room and persuaded him to join his team.

Yang Kai Was Asked About Yibo On DDU:

Yang Kai : " Wang Yibo is a super real Captain, we all felt his realness. He is a versatile dancer and

actor. He is not talkative, but he is attentive. There’s also a time where I was really touched during

the water stage, Captain Yibo probably doesn’t remember. It was dangerous on the water stage.

I tried the gloves, it’s slippery and easy to make mistakes. Then he directly came and say “try this

glove” I was really touched at that time, I felt that captain is so busy & still cares for us. Such a good

leader, who cares about the team. He always motivates the team members “You have to slay the

stage and be energetic, you have to win”. What is my opinion on Captain Yibo as a dancer, for me,

Captain Yibo is really a professional dancer who can do battle among other entertainers. Respect "

as a strict director. It came as a surprised when he spoke about actor Yibo and how praised that Yibo

at a young age is already a very promising actor for his generation. He first worked with Yibo on upcoming

drama "Being A Hero" in which he took a liking to Yibo and after the filming ended he even came to

see Yibo at the finale of Street Dance of China.

few hours before the recording, we were still practicing, everybody really had a hard time! but all of it

was worth it. what was exchanged was that we won both rounds! really happy, everyone on the team

The Finale of Street Dance of China 3

Bouboo and Yang Kai (Keven) were his two strongest dancers when it came to dance battles in

the team. During the Finals, he had to watch both dancers battle for the Top 2 finalist, where

Yang Kai proceeded as Top 2 to go head-to-head against a dancer in Jackson Wang team, while

Bouboo was eliminated. After 25 rounds of final battle, Yang Kai was crowned as the winner of

Street Dance of China Season 3, and Wang Yibo as the winning captain.

Yibo's ears became so red upon hearing Li Yitong confession. He's such a shy boy when hearing praises.

During this battle Yibo's foot was injured, making things more difficult for him but he kept going for the team

Even with his injured foot he was able to lead his team to victory and no one was eliminated.
